How to load XLN Audio plug-ins in FL Studio on Windows
For VST 3 all XLN plug-ins use the standard path set by Steinberg: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
By default FL Studio scans only .dll file plug-ins. To have it scan .vst3 plug-ins you need to go to File Settings > Manage plugins and activate Verify Plug-ins.
For VST 2:
First of all you need to make sure that FL Studio is scanning your XLN Audio plug-in folder:
- Load up the XLN Online Installer
- Go to the Customize Installation window and click the Installation Paths tab
- Make a note of the VST 2 (64-bit) plug-in path
- Load up FL Studio and click Options and select Manage plugins
- Click the Folder + icon in the Plugin search paths section, select the location from step 3 above and click OK
- Click Find Plugins to start the scan
- Now you're ready to load the plug-in
Loading an instrument plug-in (Addictive Drums, Addictive Keys, XO, Life):
Click (+) at the bottom of the channel rack and select the virtual instrument you’d like to load
Loading an effect plug-in (DS-10, RC-20, Addictive Trigger, Life DAW Recorder):
- Go to the Mixer window and select the track you want to add the effect on.
- Click on one of the empty slots and select the plug-in.
