How to load XLN Audio plug-ins in Reason
Windows:
For VST 3 all XLN plug-ins use the standard path set by Steinberg: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
For VST 2:
First of all you need to make sure that Reason is scanning your XLN Audio plug-in folder.
- Load up the XLN Online Installer
- Go to the Customize installation window and click the Installation paths tab
- Make a note of the VST 2 (64 bit) plug-in path
- Load up Reason and go to Preferences -> Advanced
- Add the path from step 3 to the VST Plugin Folders list
- Now you're ready to load the plug-in
Instrument plug-ins (Addictive Drums, Addictive Keys, XO, Life):
- Click on (+) Add Track in the Sequencer
- Go to Instruments -> XLN Audio and select your instrument plug-in
Effect plug-ins (Addictive Trigger, RC-20 Retro Color, DS-10 Drum Shaper, Life DAW Recorder):
- In the left-side menu, select Effects
- Navigate to the XLN Audio category
- Drag and drop the effect plug-in onto a module
macOS:
Instrument plug-ins (Addictive Drums, Addictive Keys, XO, Life):
- Click on (+) Add Track in the Sequencer
- Go to Instruments -> XLN Audio and select your instrument plug-in
Effect plug-ins (Addictive Trigger, RC-20 Retro Color, DS-10 Drum Shaper, Life DAW Recorder):
- In the left-side menu, select Effects
- Navigate to the XLN Audio category
- Drag and drop the effect plug-in onto a module
