How to load XLN Audio plug-ins in Cubase on Windows
For VST 3 all XLN plug-ins use the standard path set by Steinberg: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
For VST 2:
First of all you need to make sure that Cubase is scanning your XLN Audio plug-in folder:
- Load up the XLN Online Installer
- Go to the Customize Installation window and click the Installation Paths tab
- Make a note of the VST 2 (64-bit) plug-in path
- Load up Cubase and go to Studio -> VST Plug-in Manager
- Click the cogwheel in the bottom left to show the VST Plug-in Path Settings
- Click the [+] button and add the path from step 3
- Now you're ready to load the plug-in
Loading an instrument plug-in (Addictive Drums, Addictive Keys, XO, Life):
- In the top menu, go to Project -> Add Track -> Instrument
- Click the instrument drop-down menu and select the plug-in you want to load, then click Add Track.
- In the Inspector panel on the left side, click the keyboard icon to open up the plug-in interface.
Loading an effect plug-in (DS-10, RC-20, Addictive Trigger, Life DAW Recorder):
- Select the track that you want to add the effect plug-in to
- Click the Audio Inserts button in the Inspector panel
- Double-click on the plug-in you want to load
