How to load XLN Audio plug-ins
Windows:
For VST 3 all XLN plug-ins use the standard path set by Steinberg: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3
For VST 2:
First of all you need to make sure that Ableton Live is scanning your XLN Audio plug-in folder:
- Load up the XLN Online Installer
- Go to the Customize Installation window and click on the Installation Paths tab
- Make a note of the VST 2 (64 bit) plug-in path
- Launch Ableton Live, click on the Options menu and select Preferences
- Go to the Plugins tab
- Enable the Use VST2 Plugin Custom Folder option
- Click Browse next to "VST2 Plugin Custom Folder"
- Navigate to the path from step 3 and click OK
- Now you're ready to load the plug-in
Instrument plug-ins (Addictive Drums, Addictive Keys, XO, Life):
- On the left side of Live, navigate to Plug-ins -> VST
- Double-click on the desired plug-in or drag&drop it on a MIDI track to load it
Effect plug-ins (DS-10, RC-20, Addictive Trigger, Life DAW Recorder):
- On the left side of Live, navigate to Plug-ins -> VST
- Drag&drop the plug-in onto the desired track to load it
macOS:
- Click on Live in the main menu and select Preferences
- Select the File Folder tab and make sure Audio Units or VST2 is enabled
- Now you're ready to load the plug-in

- Drag&drop the plug-in onto the desired track to load it
