You don’t need this to get great results, but it helps when something isn’t doing what you expect. Your sound passes through RC-20 in this order:
- Input and Width In.
- Noise (Pre), the share of the noise that goes through everything after it.
- Compress, first stage.
- Varispeed, so every module colors the slowed-down sound.
- Wobble, Distort, Digital, Space and Loss, in the order you’ve set.
- Echo, which blends your sound with the echoes.
Include copies of the Wobble, Distort, Digital and Loss modules. With mirrored settings, but individual amount control (the Echo amount sliders).
The second Compress stage sits inside this loop as well.
Echo Space and Duck sit just after the feedback loop. - Cut and Tone. As these come after the Echo, they shape the echoes too.
- The final Compress stage
- Noise (Post), added clean.
- Width Out, Clip and Output.
The Master section’s controls are laid out a little differently on screen.
