The Master section controls the whole plugin. Input, both Width sliders, Varispeed, Cut, Tone, Compress, Clip and Output are all scaled by Magnitude.
- Input The input level, by up to 18 dB either way. Turning it up drives the modules harder, and changes how Duck, Follow, Overload and Compress react. Hold [Cmd] (Mac) / [Alt] (Windows) and Output moves the opposite way, keeping the level steady.
- Width In The thin slider above Input sets the stereo width going into the modules: 0% is mono, 100% the original and 200% extra wide.
- Varispeed Slows your sound down like a tape machine, to 1/2, 1/4 or 1/8 speed, one to three octaves lower. It glides down like real tape, then catches up at the Resync Rate to stay in time with your track. It comes before the modules, so they all color the slowed-down sound. Magnitude scales it in whole octaves.
- Varispeed settings Click the dots beside the knob. Resync Rate sets how often the slowed tape catches up, from a 1/16 note to two bars: short rates stutter, long ones drag. Mix blends in the sound with normal speed signal.
- EQ Switches Cut and Tone on and off.
- Cut Low and high cut for the whole output. Soft is a gentle 6 dB/octave roll-off. Hard is steeper: 12 dB/octave with a resonant bump on the low side (great on 808s), and 24 dB/octave on the high side.
- Tone Shapes the final sound by up to 12 dB, in four modes. All four are flat at the center.
- Tilt: clockwise brings up the highs and lowers the lows, and counterclockwise the opposite.
- Mid: clockwise brings up the mids, and counterclockwise scoops them out.
- Lo-Fi Speaker and Vintage Mic: Filters captured from real lo-fi gear. Clockwise fades to the filtered sound alone, and counterclockwise removes it, for a hollowed-out effect.
- Compress One knob that glues the whole chain together, using three gentle compressors: near the start, inside the Echo loop and at the end. It pulls louder parts down and brings quieter details, like tails and room sound, up. The meter shows how much it’s turning the sound down.
- Clip A soft clipper that keeps peaks in check. The light shows when it’s working. It’s on by default.
- Width Out The thin slider above Output sets the stereo width after the modules, from 0% (mono) to 200%.
- Output The output level, by up to 18 dB either way.
- In/Out Diff meter Shows the level difference between input and output. Hover over it and click the arrow to make them match.
- Lock Hover to reveal the padlock at the far right. It keeps your Master settings when you change presets.
