Celebrate the sampling tech of yesteryear: Digital crushes the bit depth and sample rate, from a vintage-sampler edge down to 1-bit fizz.
Rate/Bits The balance between sample rate reduction, for the metallic tones of early samplers, and bit depth reduction, for noise and grit.
Smooth Polishes off the rough digital edges, for a less harsh sound.
Sputter Shapes how the bit reduction tails off as your sound fades, from screaming noise to a hard gate as you turn it up.
Drive Pushes your sound harder into the crusher, from soft saturation to rounded-off transients and, near the top, the broken sound of a converter pushed past its limit. The level is compensated automatically.
Mix The balance between the crushed and the clean sound.
Focus/Cut Choose the frequencies that get crushed. With Cut (the default), the rest is removed. With Focus, it passes through clean: handy for crunching the top of a kick while the low end stays untouched.
Flux Varies the bit depth and sample rate.
Big Knob The amount of reduction, all the way down to 1 bit and around 44 Hz.
