Dirty up your sound with some distortion, from warm tube glow to fuzzy crunch!
Type Choose one of nine types:
- Tube Pair: the rounded warmth of driven tubes.
- Iron Transformer: thick, weighty transformer saturation.
- Crunch, Heavy and Zap: the original RC-20 distortions, from crunchy to full-on fuzz.
- Air Pressure: speaker-style breakup.
- Tape: tape saturation, with a bump in the low end.
- Classic Pre: the transformer saturation of vintage console preamps.
- Porta: the drive and dynamics of a portable 4-track cassette recorder.
Mix The balance between the distorted and the clean sound. Lower settings give parallel distortion.
Overload Louder input drives the distortion harder, adding gain, breakup and even harmonics, so louder hits sound almost choked.
Focus/Cut Choose the frequencies that get distorted. With Focus (the default), the rest stays clean. With Cut, it’s removed from the distorted sound. The dry side of Mix always stays full range.
Flux Varies the drive while keeping the level steady, so the distortion breathes.
Big Knob The amount of distortion. ThIS ONE GOES TO ELEVEN.
Heavy distortion can create harsh, metallic artifacts called aliasing. Switching on Oversampling in the Menu reduces them.
