The AD2 “kit” has 18 kit piece slots. Each one shows you an image of the currently selected kit piece. Click on the image to audition the sound. The pad is velocity sensitive; the higher up you play the louder the volume.
Kit Piece Slot functions
- Kit piece mute & solo
- Previous/next buttons for kit piece selection
- Open Kit Piece Browser
- Linking: Drag and drop the link symbol from the kick or snare slots to any other Kit Piece pads will link them so they’ll always play simultaneously. Select "Link to kick (Alternating)" to instead have fast bass drum midi notes alternate between triggering the two kick drums.
- Edit button (takes you to the Edit page with this kit piece selected)
- Midi Activity indicator
- Kit Piece Volume (for quickly adjusting the overall level for a kit piece)
- Load Tom Set (Only available on toms: opens up a menu with options for loading toms in groups, for example, “all the Sonor Toms”). Note that the Pitch settings of the toms are also set when loading a Tom Set
- Currently loaded kit piece name (click to get a list of all available kit pieces for the slot)
Kit Piece Browser
Here you can view all the available kit pieces that can be loaded into the kit piece slot. By default it shows kit pieces from all your expansions, but you can drill down by selecting specific products in the left hand column.
In the “FLEXI” slots you will also find additional filter options, like “Kicks”, “Snares” and so on.
The right hand column shows you more in depth information about the selected kit piece. You can audition the available stroke types using the small play buttons.
