This page offers a non-cluttered approach to preset browsing. Presets are organized in ‘Playlists’, with a common theme. For example, there is one playlist for each ADpak, one for your own (“User”) presets, as well as playlists dedicated to specific music styles or genres. All playlists and presets listed here are also available in the Preset Browser.
This page offers some basic controls (Kick, Snare, Hihat, Overhead & Room levels) so you can quickly tweak the most important aspects of the overall sound. For the ADpak playlists you can also audition the kit on display by clicking on the drums in the image.
Each preset has a play button which plays a ‘preview’ beat. Presets are in different styles and tempos, providing inspirational starting points. While auditioning a preset you can click on the name of another preset to switch out the “mix settings”. Basically “I like this beat, let me hear some variations of the mix”.
You can fold in/out the column showing the playlist “thumbnails”, and you can also fold in/out the individual sections within that using the arrow buttons.
The big arrows on the left and right side of the page can also be used to navigate between playlists.
💡You can audition presets from ADpaks you don’t own to get a sense of what they have to offer. These playlists can be found under “ADpak Previews”, the presets are in the form of audio demos, indicated with headphone icons instead of play buttons.
💡Want to use the preview beat in your music? Head over to the Beats Page: each preview is a MIDI beat from the AD2 library, and you can immediately drag’n’drop it into your DAW.
💡Already decided on a specific tempo? In the top section there is a “lock” icon, which forces all beats and preset previews in AD2 to follow your DAW tempo (or if using the AD2 standalone: the tempo next to the padlock, which can be adjusted by clicking and dragging up/down)
