Besides recording, Life also lets you import audio files that you already have. It can even extract the audio from video files. Life handles most audio and video formats out there, including WAV, MP3, AAC and FLAC for audio, and MP4, AVI, and MOV for video.
Regardless of what file type and format you import, the resulting source file can be max 15 seconds long. If you import a file longer than 15 seconds, you will need to trim it as part of the import process.
Importing audio or video files in Life

Select the file to import
Drag and drop a file from your computer onto Life, or press the ”Import” button on the left side of the top bar and select the file you want to import. -
Trim to max 15 seconds (if needed)
If the file is longer than 15 seconds you have to trim it. If it’s shorter you don’t have to trim it, but you can. When you’re satisfied, press ”OK”. -
Choose a name, color and icon
Enter a name for the file or press the dice icon to get a random combination of words as a name. Additionally, select a color and an icon to represent the file. Then press ”Save” to finish the import.
Import audio or video files in the mobile app

Choose to import audio or video
Tap the ”Import” icon in the top left on the main screen, and choose either ”Import Video” or ”Import Audio”. If you choose ”Import Audio”, you’ll be presented with the system file picker. If you choose ”Import Video” you’ll be presented with the system video picker. -
Select the file to import
Select the audio file or video you want to import. -
Trim to max 15 seconds (if needed)
If the file is longer than 15 seconds you have to trim it. If it’s shorter you don’t have to trim it, but you can. When you’re satisfied, press ”Next”. -
Choose a name, color and icon
