Record with the mobile app

The mobile app lets you capture sounds from your surroundings anywhere and at any time. Everything you record with the mobile app is synced automatically to Life on your computer via the cloud.

1. Start recording
   Press the ”Record” button on the main screen to start recording.
2. Record up to 15 seconds
   You can record up to 15 seconds. You can pause and restart recording at any time. When you’re satisfied, press ”Done”.
3. Choose a name, color and icon
   After recording, enter a name for your recording or press the dice icon to get a random combination of words as a name. Additionally, select a color and an icon to represent the recording. Then press ”Save” to save it.

Record with the DAW Recorder

The DAW recorder is a separate VST/AU plugin that lets you record the output from your DAW straight into Life.

1. Add the Life DAW Recorder to the track you want to record
   In your DAW, add the Life DAW Recorder plugin to the master track in your DAW, or whatever track you want to record the output from. You can then close the Life DAW Recorder window — everything is controlled from Life.
2. Start recording
   In Life, press the ”Record” button on the left side of the top bar to start recording. (When you start recording, the DAW recorder has already recorded the last 15 seconds, so you can capture happy accidents in the studio.)
3. Record up to 15 seconds
   You can record up to 15 seconds, pausing and restarting recording at any time. When you’re satisfied, press ”Done”.
4. Choose a name, color and icon
   After recording, enter a name for your recording or press the dice icon to get a random combination of words as a name. Additionally, select a color and an icon to represent the recording. Then press ”Save” to save it.
