Life is a product that lets you record sounds from your surroundings and turn those sounds into beats. It runs as a plugin in any DAW that supports 64-bit VST, AU, or AAX plugins, and as a standalone application on Windows and macOS.
Life also has two companions:
- The Life Field Recorder mobile app, available on iOS and Android, which lets you record things when you’re out and about.
- The Life DAW Recorder plugin, which you can put on any track in your DAW to record its output straight into Life.
Internet connection required
Life uses XLN Cloud Sync to store your recordings and automatically sync them between Life, the mobile app and the DAW recorder. This means that you’ll need an Internet connection to use Life, with some exceptions:
- You can record in the mobile app even when you’re offline. Your recordings are then synced when you go online again.
- You can create beats in Life even when you’re offline, as long as you’ve already downloaded the source files you need. However, you can’t import/record new source files or rename/delete your existing source files when you’re offline.
